Brief Biography:
An educator and technologist at heart, Benjamin aims to bring practical value by bridging emerging technology to real world application. He received the Ph.D and B.Eng degree in Electrical Engineering (Power and Energy Specialisation) from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore in 2019 and 2014 respectively.
Benjamin's main philosophy lies towards applying technical knowledge to unlock value for end users. His personal mantra is “So long as it does not defy the law of physics, anything is possible.” His research focuses in interdisciplinary work within the intersection of applied data analytics, modelling and optimization for smart grid applications and applied power electronics design for bipolar DC system design functionality.
His current research interests are: 1) Applied Machine Learning on Smart Grid Applications, Applied Smart Metering Data Analytics, 2) Data Driven Modeling and Optimization for Energy Management System, 3) Applied Power Flow Modeling and Power Electronics Design for Bipolar DC System Design.
He is currently building a simple program using python based on Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring for the project titled: “A Knowledge-Driven Data Analytics System for Adaptive Intelligent Energy Management of Smart Buildings”
2011 - 2014: BSc, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
2014 - 2019: PhD, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
